Simi Retired - Dragster Racing

Well, where do I start. Some of you, may or may not know; in "69", La quinta won the Ford sponsored, High school Drag race championships. With this, the school received a scholarship, for Ford technical training. I was lucky enough to be chosen and completed the training, along with other Mechanical certifications.  I then went on to live my dream, campaigning a Top Dragster and in 79', finishing third in the western U.S. and a automatic invitation, to the World Championships. I am now semi retired and playing a lot pool and shooting in local tournaments.

Vicki Northrup (Weaver)

Retired - Quality Manager

My life is"good".  Our sons and their families are such a joy to me.  It's great to have them all cose to us especially since the and grandkids are young enough to keep me playful.  I've finally retired for the 2nd time.  First in 2019 and then again just this year in May.  As the Quality Manager at Omega Tech ILabs I had more than put in  my time. I'm not sure how I will fill all of my days but I am working on figuring it out.  We want to get a Cabin here in Idaho so that will fill up some of my free time.  I hope to travel more often too.  The entire family of 13 just made it back from Mexico when the country was shutting down in early  2020.  I'm sure we all have stories to tell about this pandemic.  I can't wait to get together for a good time with each of you.

AT&T - 42 years retiring this year

I didn’t graduate from LQHS, three months before I was asked to leave. That’s a long story.  Had fun in the 70’s, I think ?   Got married, divorced and raised a son and daughter.  Went to Europe a couple times, Africa  and even counted Lemurs on animal reserve in Madagascar.  Now, after 42 years with AT&T time to leave. I enjoy time with friends, my daughter and my sons three boys Luke 3, Grant 5, and Owen 8. What a treat ! ! !

Jay Blackman

Retired - Senior VP Wells Fargo Bank

Before retirement I mentored many on both the nuances of retail banking and how to survive golf cart accidents. I only rolled that one, that one time, and frankly, I wish everyone would stop talking about it. I’ve been enjoying my retirement restoring a 1981 Jeep and a 1970 International Scout. Also, I do try each day to fit in a few hours of Law and Order reruns with my golden-doodle’s Butch and Scout. My wife, Cindy and I have been married for forty #%*&’ing years (Cindy’s word not mine). We’ve enjoyed traveling for Pearl Jam concerts in Boston, Bozeman, and Dana Point. Cindy’s there for Eddie Vedder, I’m there for Jack Daniels. We enjoy spending time with our daughter’s Chelsey and Lindsey, and their husband’s Rick and Cody and our grandkid’s Hank (5) and Ellie (3). Often someone will stop me to mention how much I look like Jeff Bridges “The Dude”. For me, there is no greater compliment. It’s less a look and more a lifestyle at this point. I never miss a chance to head back to CA to spend time with our daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Johnny for NASCAR “No Rules Race Day,” BBQ, and pool time with my grandkids Johnny (23) and Lillie (19). To quote Joe Walsh, “Life’s been good to me so far.”
